報告人:Dr. Paolo Tarolli, Associate Professor, Agriculture and Forestry, Department of Land, Environment, University of Padova, Italy

報告人簡介:

Dr. Paolo Tarolli has taught at the University of Padova, Italy since 2006. He is Deputy President of Natural Hazards division – European Geosciences Union (EGU), Deputy President of section VII (Information and Communication Technologies) – Italian Society of Agricultural Engineering and the member of Italian Society of Agricultural Engineering, Asian Oceania Geosciences Society (AOGS), British Society for Geomorphology (BSG) and American Geophysical Union (AGU). Dr. Paolo Tarolli is also the executive editor of NHESS (Copernicus, IF2018=2.883), the associated editor of Land Degradation & Development (Wiley, IF2018=4.275) and the associated editor of Remote sensing (MDPI, IF2018=4.118 ). His research areas are Earth surface processes analysis, Land Degradation, Soil erosion, Natural Hazards and GIS, etc.

摘要:Technologies such as airborne and terrestrial lidar (Light Detection and Ranging) to obtain high-resolution topography have opened avenues for the analysis of landslides, hillslope and channellization processes, river morphology and anthropogenic signatures on topography. In both natural and engineered landscapes, high-resolution topography offers opportunities to better understand geomorphic processes from topographic signatures. This review provides an overview of the recent flourishing literature on high-resolution topographic analyses, underlining their opportunities and critical issues such as their limitations. The goal is to provide answers to questions such as what kind of processes can be analyzed through high-resolution topographic data and how to do it. The last part of the review discusses future challenges.
