Paddy Bex Surf School is the perfect place to experience surfing ocean waves for the first time, to watch your children or loved ones learn how to surf, or to improve skills. We bring everything, including a supportive and nurturing approach to our non-competitive and fun lessons. Safety always comes first.

Founder, Patricia ("Paddy") Beck grew up surfing California waves, and has dedicated her adult life to teaching and the lifestyle sport of surfing. She holds a BA in Recreational Administration, a Teaching Credential in Physical Education, and a Masters Degree in Education. As are all Paddy Bex surf instructors- Patricia is certified in Lifeguard Training, CPR, and First Aid.

Before establishing Paddy Bex in Ventura, California... Patricia was a surf instructor at Humboldt State University, and 4 years at a world renowned surf school in La Jolla, California- one, if not the first, to offer exclusive classes and surf trips to women. Patricia has traveled with groups to a surf spa in Mexico, and inspired women and children of all ages to feel comfortable in the ocean. Oh, men are of course welcome to take classes too! Patricia is still surfing with a fireman she started teaching six years ago...

Australia, New Zealand, Costa Rica and Mexico have been some of Patricia's surfing destinations, Before settling in beautiful Ventura, California. She has enjoyed competition level surfing. and strives to maintain that skill level. Students definitely benefit from her range of experience.
